Yevheniya Sorochak, 90, of Solvay, passed away Sunday at Iroquois Nursing Home. Born and raised in Ukraine, she moved to the U.S. in 2003. Dedicated to her faith, Yevheniya became a member of the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Yevheniya was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Vasily; two sisters; and a brother.
Surviving are her son, Oleh (Hanna) of Liverpool; daughter, Halyna (Volodymyr) Bodnar of Ukraine; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
First service will be celebrated Thursday, February 1 at 7 p.m. at the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church. Second service will be Friday, February 2 at 10 a.m. at the church.
Yevheniya will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church, 3875 Warners Rd., Syracuse, NY 13209.
