Yaroslav Burko, 81, of Syracuse, went home to be with the Lord on Monday at home. He was born in Ukraine and later immigrated to Syracuse in 1992 where he made his cherished home and became a member of the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church. Yaroslav worked at Tarolli Brother’s Properties where he showcased his exceptional skills and knowledge before retiring. He was an excellent handyman, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Whether it was fixing something around the house or tending to his garden, Yaroslav approached everything with passion and mastery.
Yaroslav was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Olga.
Surviving are his children, Lesia (Vasiliy) Pshenichniy, Olga (Peter) Lats, Roman (Victoria) Burko, Nataliya (Peter) Olesh, and Andrey (Olga) Burko; sister, Ulyana Fedun; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
First service will be celebrated Friday, January 5 at 7 p.m. at the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church. Second service will be Saturday, January 6 at 10 a.m. at the church.
Yaroslav will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church, 3875 Warners Rd., Syracuse, NY 13209.
