Willis “Baldy” Baldwin, 91, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Loretto. Born in Fulton, he lived in Syracuse for over 30 years and was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He was the owner of Baldy's Service Center until the late 60s and retired in 1984 from the Camillus Post Office. Baldy enjoyed gardening, playing cards, bowling and shuffle board. He loved fishing, especially ice fishing on Oneida Lake and camping at Westcott Beach and Three Mile Bay. Baldy was predeceased by his wife, the former Olga Zaikowski, in 2006. Surviving are his sons, Richard and David, both of Syracuse, James of Florida, and Roger of North Carolina; daughter, Faith Zamborowski of Michigan; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m, Saturday May 10, 2014 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee, Camillus. Baldy will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
