William W. Crossett III, 75, of Geddes, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009 at University Hospital. Born in Syracuse on Sunday, November 12, 1933, he was the son of William Ward Crossett Jr. and Mary Lou Shaw Crossett. He lived in Warners and graduated from Warners High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. William moved to Sylvan Beach in the early '80's where he resided for 15 years until moving to Westvale. He worked 50 years in the restaurant business and was owner of the Shamrock Inn in Sylvan Beach. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, he was also a member of the Camillus Elks and the American Legion. William was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. William was predeceased by his brothers, Arthur and Robert; and sister, Suzanne Luke. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, the former Helen Vodek; sons and daughters-in-law, William and Susan Crossett of Fayetteville, Kevin and Carol Crossett of Syracuse, Shawn and Nancy Crossett of Baldwinsville, Darren and Diane Crossett of Fulton, and Peter and Gwen Crossett of Fayetteville; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Dianne Korrigan of Camillus and Judy Radford of Texas; sister-in-law, Joan Vodek of Camillus and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009 in St. Joseph’s Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call preceding the service from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. William will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
