William W. Balestra, 91, of Camillus, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021. Born and raised in Solvay, he moved to the Camillus area over 30 years ago. He graduated from Solvay High School and served in the Air Force for 21 years, including the Vietnam War. William was employed with Diebold, Inc. for over 15 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Camillus Elks, Geddes Veterans and Solvay Tigers A.C. He was a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed working around the house. William’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and sitting by the pool with his grandchildren.
William was predeceased by his parents, Giovanni and Marguerite; and four sisters.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Kathleen; sons, William (Carol) of Camillus and Michael (Melanie) of Middletown, DE; grandchildren, Christopher (Kristen), Michael (Samantha), Daniel, Sara (Sam) Menei, Michael J. and Mark; great-grandchildren, Avery, Ryan, Ainsley, Lily and Madeline; niece, Carol; nephew, Fred; and several additional nieces and nephews.
