William V. Stone Jr., 83, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Brookdale Summerfield. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Manlius Pebble Hill School and received a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University. He served in the Air Force Reserves. William owned Stone Walls in Manlius for 14 years, retiring in 1998 and previously worked as a sales zone manger with International Harvesters. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church. An avid golfer, William was a member of Tuscarora Golf Club. He was also a member of the Gyro Club of Syracuse and enjoyed playing cards, but above all, loved spending time with his family.
William was predeceased by his brother, Robert Stone.
Surviving are his wife of 12 years, the former Kay Broga; stepdaughters, Kathy (Robert) Wickert of Plymouth, MA and Susan Gill of Fenton, MA; stepson, Gil (Marie) Korta of Amelia Island, FL; sister, Sally (Al) Beckman of The Villages, FL; brother, Christopher (Joyce) Stone of McKinney, TX; five step-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, December 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 303 Kasson Rd., Camillus.
Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the church. William will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse.
