William V. Kwasigroch, 80 of Fairmount, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2009. Born in Syracuse on Monday, August 19, 1929, he was the son of Vincent and Helen Jasinski Kwasigroch. He was a life resident of the Syracuse area. William was a member of the first graduating class from LeMoyne College in 1951 and received his master’s degree from Syracuse University. He retired in 1989 after 32 years as a teacher with the North Syracuse Central School District. He served in the Army Security Agency for three years during the Korean War. William was a daily communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of both the North Syracuse Education Association and the NYS Teachers’ Retiree Association. He had a keen interest in politics and enjoyed gardening and sports, especially football and baseball. He was a big fan of Syracuse University, Buffalo Bills and the Red Sox. William is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Jane Trant; daughters and son-in-law, Beth Ann and David Grella of Tully and Amy Clare Kwasigroch of Syracuse; sister, Rosemary Connors of Syracuse; grandchildren, Karen and Paul Grella of Tully. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. William will be laid to rest in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
