William Thomas Boyle, 88, of Camillus, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, he earned his master's degree from Fordham University. William was an English teacher with the North Syracuse Central School District for 30 years before retiring in 1991. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.
In addition to being a retired teacher and avid churchgoer, William enjoyed his scotch, the Red Sox and spending time with family. His final days found him surrounded by a constant flow of family and friends. All of the love he gave to the world came back to him in the end.
William was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Cline.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Joan “Cookie”; daughter, Michelle (Chris Vieni) Baker of Tully; sons, Timothy (Karen) and Christopher (Laura), both of Syracuse; grandchildren, Justin and Mackenzie Baker and Matthew, Maggie, Patrick, Quinn and Hadley Boyle; and several nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, December 20 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. William will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
