William “Bill” Nock, 81, of Camillus passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at University Hospital. Born in Kingston, New York on Friday, January 13, 1928, he was the son of Albert W. Nock and Winifred F. Barr Nock. He lived in the Camillus area since 1955. Bill was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He retired from Gallinger Real Estate in 1997 and formerly worked in the local insurance industry. A long-time communicant of St. Joseph's Church, he participated in the Nocturnal Adoration Society at Holy Family Church for more than 40 years. Although he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and cooking, his favorite hobby was spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, the former Jean Audrey May; daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Scott Lickstein of Syracuse, Virginia Ann and David LoRusso of Camillus and Margaret Mary and Joseph Lanni of Larchmont; grandchildren, David, Steven, Michael, Nicholas, Natalie, Marc, Alex, and Andrew; brother, Albert of Albany; sister, Elinor O’Hare of FL; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial celebration will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in the spring at a date and time to be announced. Arrangements are by Buranich Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Guardian Angel Society, 259 E. Onondaga St., Syracuse, NY 13202.
