William Joseph Priest, 60, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Washington, D.C., he was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. He was a graduate of Marcellus High School and Onondaga Community College. An avid golfer, bowler, card player and sports fan, he loved the Syracuse Orange and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He was a proud, independent spirit who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

William was predeceased by his father, Richard Priest, Sr.
Surviving are his mother, Jude Priest; brothers, Richard Jr. of Washington State, James (Kristy) of Tennessee, Robert (Kimberly) of Kentucky and Thomas; sisters, Linda (Paul) Sheedy, Kathleen Celeste, and Margaret (Daniel) Silkey; stepmother, Ellen Priest; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, December 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, December 10 at 10 a.m. at The Church of St. Michael & St. Peter, Onondaga Hill. William will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery DeWitt.
