William J. Persaile, 87, of Geddes, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Lebanon, New York on Monday, October 16, 1922, he was the son of Domenico Persiali and Carolina Grandi Persiali. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Central High School and General Motors Institute. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Bill retired in 1986 after 43 years with General Motors Corp. He was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Bill was predeceased by his sister, Olive Felicita. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, the former Barbara Wise; sons and daughters-in-law,, Jeff and Kerri Persaile of Dallas, Texas and Steve and Claudia Persaile of Auburn; sister, Sally MacKay of Auburn; grandchildren, Kacey, Taylor, Jacob and Olivia of Dallas, Texas, and Ashley and Justin of Auburn; and nephews, Marty Felicita and Bill MacKay. Services will be at 8:45 a.m. Monday, April 12 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Cecilia’s Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, April 11 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Bill will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
