William A. Douglas, 99, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Nottingham High School. A U.S. Army Air Corp WWII veteran, William was employed by Royal Globe Insurance for over 15 years. A founding member of the Syracuse Kilties Pipe band, he was also a member of the Senior Metz Circuit. William was an amazing gardener who enjoyed spending time outdoors and falconry. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
William was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette, in 2001; daughter, Dale Douglas Paul, in 2013; and brother, Alan.
Surviving are his son, Bruce (Elizabeth) of Marietta; grandsons, Andrew A. (Stephanie) of Rensselaer, and Alexander W. of Marcellus; great-grandchildren, Hannah and James; brother, Richard; and several nieces and nephews.
William will be laid to rest in Howlett Hill Cemetery, Town of Onondaga.
