William D. “Bill” Chase, 73, of Marcellus, passed away Tuesday at Upstate Community Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of North Syracuse High School. Bill was employed by Suburban Hardware and Iroquois Plumbing for over 30 years, retiring in 2016. He was a former member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and an avid hunter and fisherman. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Ruth; and brother, Gary.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, the former Charlene Torrick; sons, Christopher (Shannon) of Syracuse and Timothy (Rebecca) of Marcellus; grandchildren, Clare, Adeline, Madison, Finella, Livia and Logan; brother, Richard (Mary) of Fulton; sister, Linda (James) Fredette of Memphis; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at noon. Bill will be laid to rest in Highland Cemetery, Marcellus. Following the cemetery, there will be a luncheon held in memory of Bill at the Marcellus Fire Department.
