William L. Carter Jr., 80, of Syracuse, died Thursday at home. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Bill enjoyed spending his winters in Florida and his summers in Limoge, Canada. He was employed for 40 years with Chrysler Corp., retiring in 1987. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. Bill was a member of the Elks Club B.P.O.E. 31, Moose Lodge #644, VFW Post #3146 and the American Legion Post #1468. His wife, the former Charlotte Loran, died in April 2008. Surviving are his daughters, Wendy A. Collins of Syracuse and Pamela J. Carter of Troy, MI and granddaughter, Nicole A. Collins of Syracuse.
