William “Bill” P. Warriner, 78, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Monday at Crouse Hospital. A lifelong resident of the Syracuse area, Bill was a 1964 graduate of West Genesee High School. With determination and dedication, he furthered his education, earning a bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College and a master’s degree from Fairfield University.
Bill built a rewarding career in finance, devoting over 30 years to KeyCorp before retiring in 2008. His sharp financial insight, integrity, and leadership left a lasting mark on his colleagues and the company.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bill led a life full of passion and adventure. He was a member of the Men’s Lions Club and found great joy in boating in the Thousand Islands, cars, golf, and traveling. He and his beloved wife cherished their winters in Fort Pierce, FL, where they created many wonderful memories. Above all, Bill treasured time with his family, sharing his adventurous spirit, warmth, and laughter with those he loved.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, William and Gertrude Warriner.
Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce; daughters, Amy (David) Furletti of Brewerton and Kristen (Michael) Sergott of Clifton Park; grandchildren, Matthew Furletti and Parker and Tate Sergott; sister, Marylou (James) Koes of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Eller and the incredible nurses and nursing assistants on the 3rd and 6th floors of Crouse Hospital. Your unwavering care, compassion, and support over the past several months have meant the world to us. Through every challenge, you provided not only exceptional medical care but also kindness and comfort, making a difficult journey a little easier. Your dedication and compassion did not go unnoticed, and we will forever be grateful for the love and respect you showed to Bill and our family. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything you have done.
To celebrate Bill’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 14, 2025, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to North Syracuse Dollars for Scholars, P.O. Box 5205, Syracuse, NY 13220-5205 to benefit a future nursing student.
