William A. Rollinson, 79, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at Upstate Community Hospital. A graduate of Central High School, William worked at New Process Gear for 31 years, Syracuse University for 15 years and the Oncenter for 12 years. He was a member of the UAW, an avid golfer and sports fan.
When William was younger, he was an incredible athlete. He played fullback in football and was a key utility player in baseball. He loved children and coached Babe Ruth baseball as well as grade school basketball.
He had a love for life and people. He loved to make people laugh. He was famous for his Godfather and Elvis impressions. No matter where he went, he would run into someone he knew. He was always willing to help others.
William was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Rita Rollinson; and sister, Ann Marleen Kelly.
Surviving are his daughters, Cyndi Rollinson of Painted Post, and Pam (Chris) Teufel of Dresher, PA; grandchildren, Michael and Paul Millow, Paige, Collin and Parker Teufel; and brothers, Michael (Kathy) of Mariposa, CA, David (Patty) of Syracuse and Mark of Liverpool; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, October 11 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A public graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Agnes Cemetery, Syracuse.
