Wesley L. Goodspeed, 91, of Camillus, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Iroquois Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ithaca, he lived in Camillus for over 50 years. A Marine Corps veteran of WWII, he was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post 1540. Wesley retired in 1987 after 37 years with BC&T Local 116 in Syracuse. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and bowler, but above all, loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wesley was predeceased by his son, David, in 1982; two brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, the former Barbara Garrison; son, Timothy (Jeanette) Goodspeed of Washington; daughters, Tracey (Gary) Waldron of Clay and Brenda (Garrett) Martin of Camillus; sister, Sue Wright of North Carolina; grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan and Tia Goodspeed, Ashley, Zachary and Ryan Waldron, Amanda (Eric) Blouin and Alicia and David Martin; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Madisyn Blouin; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, June 12 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Wesley will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus.
