Warren Edgar Biesemeyer, 97, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Westvale, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019. Born in Muncie, IN, he moved to Syracuse in 1935. Warren was a 1940 graduate of Eastwood High School and graduated from Syracuse University in 1947, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was Manager of Engineering at B.G. Sulzle for 19 years, retiring in 1986, and returned there as a consultant to design and build special manufacturing equipment. He was also formerly employed by Rollway Bearing Co.
Warren was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, obtaining the rank of Second Lieutenant in the Combat Engineers. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Society for Metals, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the Volkswagen Club of CNY, and the Society of Automotive Engineers. He was a generous volunteer for Community General Hospital.
Warren began spending winters in Ft. Myers, FL in 1992, where he volunteered at Lee Memorial Hospital and at his community of Plantation Estates. He moved to Cape Coral in 2008.
Warren enjoyed fishing, particularly on the St. Lawrence River. He also played golf at Westvale Golf Club and at Myerlee Country Club in Ft. Myers for many years. He loved cars and took pride and pleasure maintaining his vehicles. With his family, he traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad. Warren set the bar for aging gracefully. He bore the inevitable losses of a long life with dignity, and he continued to learn and seek out new experiences. By his example, he has been a wonderful inspiration to his children.
