Wanetta E. Atkinson, 72, of Skaneateles, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center with her family by her side. Born and raised in Richfield, Idaho, she moved to Skaneateles in 1974. Wanetta enjoyed bowling and square dancing with her friend, Paul. She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 2009. Surviving are her son, John (Patty) Atkinson Jr. of Yorktown, VA; daughters, Marie (Robert) Imundo of Old Forge, Susan Robedee of Fairmount and Debbie (Mike) Desso of Santa Clarita, CA; sisters, Mary Wilmoth of Hanna, WY and Evie (Chuck) Carter of Medford, OR; brother, Hank Warner of Cave Junction, OR; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and companion, Paul Straka of Navarino. Relatives and friends may call Saturday, May 24 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
