Walter H. Walberger Jr.

Walter H. Walberger Jr., 77, of Syracuse. passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 at home. Born in Otisco on Saturday, October 27, 1934, he was the son of , he was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse-Camillus area. Walter retired from Southern Containers in 1996 after 43 years. He was a member of the Camillus Elks. An avid golfer, he was a member of West Hill Country Club. He also enjoyed cooking, bowling, hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, the former Rena Cromack; daughters and son-in-law, Judy Walberger of Baldwinsville, Nancy and John DelVecchio of Lakeland, and Patty Bellucci of Baldwinsville; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Christine Walberger of North Syracuse; stepdaughters and spouses, Carol Benjamin of Florida, Patty and Paul Jordan of Georgia, Linda and Joseph Rizzo of Lyncourt and Kathy and Scott Armstrong of Liverpool; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Marge Beak of Syracuse, Jennie Brown of Phoenix and Katherine Lindly of Houghton; brother, Ellis Walberger of Phoenix; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, October 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be at (time) Thursday, October 4 in Immanuel United Methodist Church, 303 Kasson Rd., Camillus. Walter will be laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
