Virginia Marie Voorhest

August 29, 1928 — November 7, 2022

Virginia “Ginny” Voorhest, of Onondaga Hill, passed away peacefully on Monday at home, surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Hicksville, NY. Ginny enjoyed working as an administrative assistant for the West Genesee School District for over 25 years. Devoted to her faith, she was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. Ginny attended daily Mass, was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and Ladies’ Adoration Society, and was a Eucharistic minister. She loved her gardens, daily walks, knitting, sewing, needlework and entertaining. Ginny and Les enjoyed their retirement years traveling and wintering in Naples, FL. She adored her family and was a loving, fun grandmother.

Ginny was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Leslie, in 2016; and brother, Edward Braun.

Surviving are her daughters, Kathy (Jack) Paasch, Marian (Dale) Vollmer, Joann Voorhest, Nancy (Richard) Greene, Elizabeth Voorhest, and Leslie (George) Politarhos; grandchildren, Kylene, Kari, and Dan Vollmer, Alex and Jarred Politarhos, and Harry and Sam Greene; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private.
