Virginia T. Neagle Hayes

Virginia T. Neagle Hayes, 90, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at home. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Virginia was a 1940 graduate of St. Patrick's High School. She retired in 1990 from Hutchings Psychiatric Center. She loved to fish and spend time at her camp on Oneida Lake. Virginia was predeceased by her first husband, George W. Neagle in 1956; second husband, David M. Hayes, in 2010; and brother, Charles Williams. Surviving are her children, William J. (Kristin) Neagle, Jean K. Schulte, James T. Neagle, Nora K. (Richard) Scott, and David M. Hayes Jr., all of Syracuse and Patrick D. (Richard Gandionco) Hayes of San Francisco, CA; grandchildren, Joseph Schulte of Bend, OR, Amanda Scott, Jacob M. Neagle, Erik and Paul Lilly, and Jessica Temple, all of Syracuse; six great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Amedro of Syracuse; brother, Joseph (Jackie) Williams of Syracuse; sister-in-law, Lois Williams of Syracuse; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
