Virginia “Ginny” Schill, 85, of Camillus, passed away Friday at The Centers at St. Camillus. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of St. Lucy’s School. Ginny was employed with Niagara Mohawk for over 30 years, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed going for rides and her biggest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ginny was predeceased by her husband, Richard Sr., in 2014; mother, Eva Finch; sister, Patricia Ennis and great-granddaughter, Lucia.
Surviving are her daughters, Debbie Michalak and Cindy (special son-in-law, Mark) Polge, both of Camillus; son, Richard Schill Jr. of Liverpool; grandchildren, Kimberly (Albert) Julian, Rick (Brandi) Schill, Jon Schill and Jessica Polge; great-grandchildren, Giovanni and Gemma Julian and Shauna and Erica Schill; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Preventive Medicine Associates, Nascentia Health, The Centers at St. Camillus and Hospice of CNY for their loving care and compassion given to Ginny over these past few years.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, July 9 from 11 to 1 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Ginny will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
