Virginia A. “Gini” Hughes, 84, of Camillus, died Wednesday at Community General Hospital. She was a lifetime resident of Syracuse. She was formerly employed by City Electric for many years. Virginia was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with her family. Virginia was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Joseph F. Hughes, who died in 2007. Surviving are her sons, Stephen J. (Judy) of Rochester and Mark D. (Liz) Hughes of Oakland, CA; grandchildren, Michael, Brendan, and Adam; brother, John (Kay) Alpert of Camillus; sister, Linde (Art) Wagner of Clearwater, FL and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated.
