Virginia C. Grosso, 96, of Pulaski, passed away Monday at Glendale Nursing Home. Born and married in Syracuse, she moved to Pulaski in the 60s to raise her family. Virginia was employed with Pulaski Day Care for 10 years before retiring in 2002. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Camillus and member of St. John’s Altar & Rosary Society in Pulaski.
Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Claude; parents, Matthew and Marjanna Majka; sisters, Sophie Orzell, Mary Kusnierczyk, Nell Piwinski, Jean Romanick and Helene Smith; and brothers, Walter, Raymond and Stephen Majka.
Surviving are her children, Daniel (Cathy) Grosso of Schenectady, Linda (Johnnie) Steffy of Cicero, Claude (Elaine) Grosso Jr. of Boston, MA and Maria (Jay) Matthews of Ballston Lake; grandchildren, Lauren Williams, Erin Grosso, Abbie Steffy, Sharon and Damon Grosso and Brielle, Tegan, Justin and Erik Matthews; and great-grandchildren, Giuliano and Aurelio Williams.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 23 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Camillus. Virginia will be laid to rest in Village of Pulaski Cemetery in the spring.
