Vidyut Sinhji, 75, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at home. Born in Rajkot, India, he moved to California in 1970 and then to the Syracuse area in 1971. Vidyut was employed with Onondaga County for 26 years before retiring in 1999. He was the personal driver for former county executive, John H. Mulroy, an events coordinator and worked at the Onondaga County Steam Station. After retirement, Vidyut enjoyed working at Walmart, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Vidyut was predeceased by his parents, Bharat and Jagat Sinhji.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Dolores of Camillus; sons, David (Andrea Gillman) of Tulsa, OK and Aaron (Tara Smith) of Liverpool; daughter, Meera (Jason) Corbin of Camillus; brother, Sanjay (Alka) Sinhji of India; sisters, Alaknanda (Pushpendra) Jadeja of India, Vishwadhara Sinh of Syracuse and Jagdeeshwari (Hem Singh) Varman of India; grandchildren, Evan, Reed, Isabella, Aidan, Wyatt and Mackenzie; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, July 25 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
