Victoria H. (Ptak) Karpinski, 87, of Syracuse, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, she was born December 15, 1917, the daughter of Joseph and Honorata Ptak. A communicant of Holy Family Church, she attended Sacred Heart Academy and Vocational High School. She was formerly employed by Schraft's Restaurant, Brown-Lipe-Chapin, Bristol Labs, the Addis Co. and Walter White's Restaurant. Victoria enjoyed cooking, dancing, the polka and caring for her flower gardens and tomatoes. Victoria is predeceased by her daughter, Marcia in 2000 and husband, Joseph, in 2001. Surviving are her daughters, Mary Karpinski (Steve Hoefer) of Fayetteville, Janice Karpinski and Karen Karpinski, both of Syracuse; son, Joseph (Stacy) of Camillus; sister, Mary Kitay of Syracuse; brothers, Joseph Ptak of Solvay and John Ptak of Syracuse and seven grandchildren. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2005 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Thursday, April 21, 2005 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Syracuse.
