Timothy Thomas Hall

November 2, 1948 — April 5, 2025

Camillus and Sarasota, FL

Timothy Thomas Hall, 76, of Camillus and Sarasota, FL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on April 5, 2025, in Sarasota. Born in Syracuse, Tim graduated from Central Square High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from SUNY Brockport and a master’s degree from Syracuse University.

Tim began his career as an elementary teacher, spending nine years with the West Genesee Central School District at Warners Elementary School. He later transitioned into management roles with Sundown Health Clubs and The Copy Centers. Tim took pride in his careers and deeply valued the relationships he built with co-workers over the years.

After retirement, Tim enjoyed volunteering as a mentor with the Guardian Angel Society. He also participated in the Syracuse City Schools Book Buddies program, helping children in grades K–3. Tim often spoke about how much he cherished these moments and the special connections he made with children during his retirement.

Tim loved an adventure. Whether kayaking, boating, fishing, or bicycling—being outdoors was where he felt most alive. He also enjoyed golfing with family and friends. You could often find him on a golf course in Central New York or playing a round as a member of Stoneybrook Golf and Country Club in Sarasota. Those days were always filled with competitive fun.

Family was at the core of Tim’s life, evident in the quality time he spent with each of them. Whether teaching his family how to waterski, spending time in the Adirondacks with his siblings, sharing something new he had learned or read, enjoying one-on-one time with his children and grandchildren, taking summer trips to Cape Cod, or exploring new places with his wife—these were the moments that brought Tim the most joy.

Tim also loved cheering on his favorite teams, especially SU basketball and football and the NY Yankees. His enthusiasm was contagious—when he talked about a game, everyone around him couldn’t help but become a fan too. But Tim would gladly miss any of those games to support his children and grandchildren. Whether he was watching a game, listening to a concert, or attending an award ceremony, Tim (Papa) was always their biggest fan.

Tim was predeceased by his parents, Oliver and Ruth Hall.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Judy; daughters, Amy (Ryan) Patrick of Camillus and Kathleen (Ryan) Muller of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, Gregory, Mackenzie, Brendan, Madison and Emily; siblings, Christine Hall-Finney, Mark Hall, and Mike Hall. In addition, Tim adored his nieces and nephews who always had a special place in his heart.

To celebrate Tim’s life, relatives and friends may call Friday, May 16, 2025, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will follow.
