Timothy E. Snyder, 59, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at home. Born in Portland, Maine, he lived in New Hampshire, South Florida and New Port Beach, CA before moving to the Syracuse area in the late 80s. He attended Corona del Mar High School in California. Tim was affiliated with horses his whole life and worked at the Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack for many years. He enjoyed spending time with horses and also enjoyed photography. Author, Joseph Layden wrote The Ghost Horse which tells the inspiring true tale of a one-eyed, club-footed thoroughbred racehorse and his trainer, Tim Snyder. Tim helped the horse overcome its deficiencies, eventually naming her in part after his deceased wife, Lisa, the great and only love of his life. Lisa passed away in 2003. Surviving are his daughters, Sierra (Rick) Chidester of Murrieta, CA and Ashley Serino of Amesbury, MA; sister, Cheryl (Joseph) Hall of Cardiff, CA; brothers, Edward Snyder of Cardiff, CA and Daniel Snyder of Washington; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
