Thomas R. Gulgert, 78, of Camillus, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 27, 2021. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Le Moyne College. Thomas worked for the county for over 20 years before retiring in 2005. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church. An avid fly fisherman, he was on the board of directors for the Carpenter's Brook Fish Hatchery.
Thomas was a loving husband, father and loyal friend. He found joy in his family, a good trout stream and the little things in life.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary; and first wife, Adrienne (Vinch) Gulgert.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Lorene; children, Bill (Laura) Gulgert of Virginia, Kara (Dan) Lux of Camillus, Wendy (Tyler) Cross of Tupper Lake and Bridget (Dave) Purdy of Camillus; grandchildren, Liam, Isabelle and Audrey Gulgert, Madelyn and Andrew Lux, Gunnar Cross and Tommy and Addie Purdy; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. Burial will be private.
