Thomas Henry Mineker, 87, of Largo, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Born on December 31, 1936, in Syracuse, he graduated from Syracuse Central High School. Throughout his life, Thomas was dedicated to his work as a supervisor at New York Telephone for 41 years, where he demonstrated unwavering commitment and professionalism. His presence was felt not only in the workplace but also in his community engagements. As a proud member of the West Genesee Athletic Club, New York State Assoc. of Certified Football Officials, and the SU Lacrosse Stickmen's Club, Thomas found joy in camaraderie and shared passions. His roots remained firmly planted in Syracuse, but his heart eventually led him to Florida, where he resided in Largo, embracing a new chapter filled with sunshine and coastal breezes. Despite the distance, Thomas's spirit continued to shine brightly, impacting all those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Helen; brother, Scott; and wife, Carol Mineker.
Surviving are his fiancée, Susan Stafy of Largo, FL; sons, Tom (Donna) of Eagle Bay, David (Kim) of Concord, NC, and Scott of Syracuse; step-children, Michael Stafy of Syracuse and Tanya (Joe) Giannuzzi of Cicero; brothers, Paul (Jackie) of Alabama and Bill of Florida; and numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be private.
