Thomas E. Higgins

Thomas Edward Higgins, 88, of , Frisco, CO, died peacefully Sunday at Evergreen Life Center in Evergreen, CO following a brief illness.  Born on February 23, 1927, he was the son of John and Margaret Higgins.  He married the love of his life, Helen, in 1951 in Glens Fall and spent the majority of his life in Camillus.  He retired in 1992 from Haylor, Freyer and Coon, Inc. Thomas and Helen celebrated 54 years of marriage in 2005.  He lived out his last two years with his daughter, Lisa and family . Thomas served his country in the US Navy from 1945 until 1947.  He is remembered as a kind, compassionate, and generous father. His love for his wife and children was his greatest devotion.  He was an avid golfer who loved to travel and follow his beloved New York Mets and Giants. Thomas was predeceased by his wife, Helen; son, Michael Higgins; daughter, Jacqueline Toth; and three siblings. Surviving are his daughter, Lisa (George) Tousey of Frisco, CO; grandsons, Aaron Higgins of Solvay, and George and Garrett Tousey, both of Frisco, CO; sister, Kathleen (Alphonse) Cinotti of Naples, FL; daughter-in-law, Patricia Higgins of Solvay; son-in-law, Ralph Toth of Wallingford, CT; sister-in-law, Marcia Mills of Myrtle Beach, SC; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home and 11:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus where a funeral Mass will be celebrated.  Thomas will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus.
