Thomas M. Darling, 60, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was known for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his hardworking spirit.
Thomas proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard, exemplifying his commitment to his country. Following his service, he pursued higher education at ITT, where he furthered his knowledge and skills. Thomas worked as a truck driver at Byrne Dairy and later worked as a security installer for ADT, where his meticulous attention to detail kept countless homes and businesses safe.
Thomas was a former member of the Warners Fire Dept., where he served with dedication and camaraderie. He had a passion for cooking, often sharing his culinary creations with those he loved, and found great satisfaction in working on cars, a hobby that reflected his meticulous and hands-on nature. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his beloved granddaughter, Madison, who brought him endless joy.
Thomas was predeceased by his beloved parents, Louis and Marie Darling.
Surviving are his daughter, Britini (Aaron Rose) Darling of Elbridge; sons, Noah and Nathaniel, both of Syracuse; granddaughter, Madison; brothers, James and John (Jina), both of Aberdeen, MD, and Louis; aunt, Soni (John) Garofalo of Phoenix; and several nieces and nephews.
In honoring Thomas' wishes, there will be no calling hours.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Warners Fire Dept., 6444 Newport Rd., Warners, NY 13164.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
