Thomas A. Cawley II, 66, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at Crouse Hospital following a short illness. Born in Carbondale, PA, he was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. Tom was a graduate of Central Tech and was employed as a mechanic with Centro for 41 years, retiring in 2016. He was a member of the Syracuse Crunch Booster Club and was a Syracuse Crunch season ticket holder for many years. Tom enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and attending NASCAR events. Most of all, he loved spending time together with his wife, Joan.
Tom was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Roseann Buza in 1991.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Joan; sisters, Carolann (John) Rockwell of LaFayette and Patricia Cawley of Brewerton; sister-in-law, Ann Shipman of DeWitt; brother-in-law, Dennis Greci of Lebanon, CT; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, August 17 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home.
Thomas will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
