Thomas C. Staffa, 72, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday at Crouse Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Liverpool High School and U.S. Army veteran. Tom was employed by Syracuse University for 10 years, retiring in 2005 and was previously employed by Carl's Drug Store for many years. A communicant of Holy Family Church, he also was a member of the Holy Family Seniors and served on the funeral luncheon guild. He was a volunteer at Francis House and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, the former Mary "Kathy" Keyes; special sister-in-law, Theresa Keyes of Syracuse; special extended in-law family; cousin, Sister Maura Rhode of Syracuse; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, November 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus, NY. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 26 at the funeral home and at noon in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Thomas will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
