Theresa (Callahan) Kallfelz, 89, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday after a brief illness. A proud and feisty Irishwoman, she loved nothing more than her cherished family and a cold beer. Theresa was known for her sharp wit, keen sense of humor, and signature sarcastic smile. With her legendary "sonic hearing," she always knew what was going on—and you never had to wonder what she was thinking.
Theresa was the heart of her family, creating countless cherished memories at her home, where gatherings were filled with love, laughter, and a sense of togetherness. She was the focal point of every celebration, bringing everyone together with her warmth and spirited personality.
Theresa was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Len; son, Dan Kallfelz; granddaughter, Kate Dobreski; daughter-in-law, Joanne Kallfelz; and brother, Jim Callahan.
Surviving are her daughter, Karen (Jim Murray) Khammar of Fairmount and Susan (Dave) Dobreski of Seekonk, MA; and son, Len (Kathy Manser) Kallfelz III of Baldwinsville. Also surviving are her grandchildren, who knew her as “Bugga” or “Maga”, Tina (Dave) McCarthy, Kelly Pritchard, Patti (Zev) Werts, Maggie (Mike) Kallfelz, Kristen (Mike) Byrne, Colleen Burgess, Ashley (Tim) Khammar, and Connor (Taylor) Khammar; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives.
To celebrate Theresa’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
Theresa will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
