Theodore "Frank" Demianyk, 89, of Fairmount, died peacefully Thursday at VA Medical Center. Born on February 7, 1926, he was a lifelong resident of Syracuse and was a graduate of Eastwood High School. A Navy veteran, Frank served on a battleship in the Pacific during WW II. He married Josephine Zacharek after the war and worked at the Olivetti Corporation where he was the service manager until his retirement. Frank was a self-taught musician playing the saxophone and entertaining locally for many years with his own band "The Frankie Dee" Quartet. He later performed with Stan Colella. He was the main vocalist at most events and had a wonderful singing voice reminiscent of Frank Sinatra. He was also an avid and talented golfer as well as an imaginative storyteller and artist. Frank was extremely loving and proud of his daughter, Patricia (David) Brundage; grandsons, Greg (Kristen) Stone and David (Jen) Stone; and great-grandchildren, Kaelyn and Michael Stone. He is also survived by his wife, Josephine Demianyk; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and other friends. Relatives and friends may call Monday, December 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. with services immediately following at 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be at a later date in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
