Terry "Taras" Burak

Terry “Taras” Burak, 70, of Fairmount, passed away Thursday at Francis House. Born in New Orleans, LA, he lived most of his life in the Syracuse area. A 1969 graduate of Bishop Ludden High School, Terry earned his bachelor’s degree from SUNY Brockport and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Le Moyne College. He was the purchasing manager at Carrier Corporation, where he worked for 47 years. Terry enjoyed running, cycling, golfing, and tennis, and was an avid Yankees fan. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

Terry was predeceased by his parents, Iwan and Anastasia; and brother, Wasyl.

Surviving are his fiancée, Ami Longstreet; daughter, Annie Burak Dotzler; son, John (Katie); brother, Michael; and grandchildren, Jack, Andrew, Charlie and Hannah Dotzler and Alex, Maya and Abby Burak.

Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, July 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in the church.

Terry will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Syracuse.
