Suzanne “Suzzy” P. King, 75, of Lakeland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. A lifetime resident of Lakeland, she was a graduate of Solvay High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College. Suzzy was the director of social services at the Jewish Home for over 20 years. Suzzy was known for baking her amazing cookies and cakes. She took much joy in caring for her dogs. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
Suzzy was predeceased by her husband, Gary; parents, Edward and Pauline Pileski; brother, Edward Pileski; and brother-in-law, James McKenney Jr.
Surviving are her daughters, Mary (James) King-Kirwan and Aimee (Patrick) King-Dehm; grandchildren, Griffen, Cameron, Samantha and Keeley; sister, Lorraine McKenney; niece, Paula Myers; and nephews, James and David McKenney.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday, September 20 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Face coverings are required.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, September 21 at 11:30 a.m. in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse. Suzzy will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Syracuse.
