Suzanne C. (Walker) Payne, 52, of Westvale, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Francis House. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she graduated from West Genesee High School in 1983, received her bachelor's degree from Niagara University, master's degree in nursing from SU and her post master's certificate from SUNY Albany in 2008. Suzanne was a nurse practitioner at Pulmonary Health Physicians and previously worked for St. Joseph's Hospital, Anesthesia Group PC and University Hospital. A communicant of St. Patrick's Church, she was a volunteer with Mother Marianne Museum and active with the Solvay-Geddes-Westvale Relay for Life. Suzanne enjoyed swimming, but above all, loved spending time with her family, friends and dog, Jack.
Suzanne was predeceased by her father, John "Dixie", in 1981; and mother, Jeanne Walker, in 2014.
Surviving are her son, John A. Payne III of Westvale; sisters, Margaret (Sal) Walker-Vona and Maureen (Brian) Hohl, both of Camillus; brother, John (Michele) Walker of Collegeville, PA; former husband, John A. Payne Jr. of Syracuse; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Francis House for their loving care and compassion given to Suzanne.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, September 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 19 at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 216 N. Lowell Ave., Syracuse. Suzanne will be laid to rest in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus.
