Suzanne A. Richer

Suzanne A. Richer, 59, of Onondaga Hill, died peacefully at home on Sunday, June 18, 2006 with her family by her side after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in Schenectady on Sunday, February 2, 1947, she was the daughter of William John Kelley and Edna Mae English. She lived in Ballston Spa until moving to the Onondaga Hill-Marcellus area 37 years ago. Suzanne was a 1965 graduate of Ballston Spa High School and 1969 graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh. A teacher with the Skaneateles Central Schools, she retired in 2002 after 29 years. A devout Catholic, Suzanne was a communicant of St. Michael's Church, Onondaga Hill, vice president of the Pastoral Council and volunteer for the Bethany Guild. She was also a volunteer for the Samaritan Center and member of NYSUT. Suzanne was also an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Most of all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Ronald F. Richer; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Megan Richer of Camillus; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Brian Ciota of Marietta; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maureen and David McIntire of Chestertown, Maryland and Eileen and Craig Wilkie of Jamesville; grandchildren, Ethan Robert and Gavin Michael Ciota and Samantha Suzanne Richer; three nephews and many cousins. Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2006 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Wednesday, June 21, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus.
