Susan Mayer, 60, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 at University Hospital. Born in Buffalo, she lived in Ithaca before moving to Syracuse in 2010. She received her associate’s degree from Morrisville and in 1994, graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in accounting. She worked in the Bursar Office at Ithaca College for 20 years. Susan was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She liked to swim, water ski and also enjoyed downhill skiing, camping and was an avid Denver Bronco fan. She was short in stature but tall in moxie and extremely independent. Susan was predeceased by her father, George, in 2012; and brother-in-law, Larry Moffett. Surviving are her mother, Gloria (Klein) Mayer of Camillus; sisters, Linda (Dean) Ellinwood of Marcellus, Carol Mayer (Bruce Reaves) of Gibsonville, NC and Elaine Moffett of Lafayette, CO; and was beloved by her nieces and nephews, Andrew Cady, Dannielle Byrd, David and Christina Moffett, Scott and Mark Ellinwood. Relatives and friends may call Monday, March 10 from noon to 1 p.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 5402 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the church.
