Susan M. Blumer, 70, of Lysander, passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 at Sunnyside Care Center. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she graduated from Cathedral High School and Upstate Medical University College for Nursing. Susan was employed for 25 years with the West Genesee Central School District as a nurse.
She was a co-owner of the Covey Theatre Co., Girl Scout leader and communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and St. Ann's Church. Susan enjoyed dancing, choreographing and coordinating shows and was the recipient of the 2015 Hall of Fame SALT Award. She volunteered her time with many charitable organizations in the Syracuse area and loved spending time with her family.
Susan was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret Kearns; sister, Kathleen Wikorek; and brother-in-law, John McCarthy.
Surviving are her daughters, Kristine Blumer of Camillus, Karen (Timothy) Fausnaught of Williamsport, PA and Amy (Robert Mulligan) Blumer of Syracuse; sisters, Patricia (Thomas) Schlueter of Baldwinsville, Mary Ann (Thomas) McAneney of Hutchinson Island, FL and Mary Jane McCarthy of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Colin, Margaret and Hailey Fausnaught, Isabella Clary, Klair and Madeline Fausnaught and Ava, Mackenzie and Emma Mulligan; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, June 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will be Saturday, June 24 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
