Stephanie Anne Rybak, 66, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 due to complications from frontal temporal dementia at home. Born in Syracuse, she lived in Camillus most of her life. Stephanie was a graduate of West Genesee High School, Maria Regina College and attended SUNY Brockport. She worked for the Onondaga County Department of Social Services for over 30 years, starting as a case worker and retiring as a supervisor in Child Protective Services. An avid reader, she also enjoyed kayaking, good food and drink but above all, loved spending time with her family and friends.
Stephanie was predeceased by her father, Frank Rybak, in 2004; mother, Emily (Callahan) Rybak, in 2007; and brother, Lt. Francis P. Rybak, in 1968.
Surviving are her husband, Michael MacDonald of Syracuse; son, Colin Rybak of Syracuse; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and her beloved wonder dog, Jojo.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, January 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will follow at 7 p.m. in the church. Spring burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
