Stella T. Dec

Stella T. Dec, 93, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, she lived in Camillus for over 50 years. She retired after over 10 years with the West Genesee Central School District and formerly worked at Sealtest Ice Cream. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Stella was a former communicant of Holy Family Church and member of the Altar & Rosary Society and Legion of Mary. For over 40 years, Stella and her husband made Rosaries for family, friends and missions. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Stella was predeceased by her husband, Adam, in 2000; three sisters; and two brothers. Surviving are her daughters, Theresa (Martin) McClusky of Marcellus, Patricia (Angelo) Vrissis of Land O’Lakes, FL and Sherrill Dec of Camillus; brother, Chester Dziergas of Weedsport; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours for friends and family will be Monday, March 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Tuesday, March 11 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home and 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Stella will be laid to rest in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church, Capital Campaign, 5600 W.
