Sophie Sally Kerlin, 99, of Syracuse, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, she was born on Thursday, February, 18, 1909. She was the daughter of Joseph Bednarczyk and Antonina Orlowski Bednarczyk. Sally was a hairdresser with E.W. Edwards & Son for 12 years and was also formerly employed by Nettleton's. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and member of its Altar & Rosary Society. Sally enjoyed needlepoint. She loved to cook and was noted for her delicious pineapple squares. Sally was predeceased by her husband, John Richard Kerlin, who died in 1966; sisters, Laura Lewandowski, Irene Thoreck and Teddy Sinausky; and brother, Michael Bednarczyk. Surviving are her sisters, Josephine Fero, Anne Hoysak, Ceil Luteran and Natalie Slake, all of Syracuse; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Sunday, April 20, 2008 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
