Sonya Finkelstein

Sonya Finkelstein, 86, of DeWitt, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015.  She was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. Sonya loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  An avid Yankees and Giants fan, she also loved to read and enjoyed bowling, knitting, camping, swimming, playing Mahjong and traveling to Florida. Sonya was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, in 2012; and sister, Muriel Chochul.  Surviving are her daughter, Deborah (David) Goodfellow of Kirkville; son, Jay of Cicero; grandchildren, Marie (Mathew) Finkelstein-Gamela, Paul (Jessica) Finkelstein and Daniel and Andrew Goodfellow; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Eternity, Aryanna and Jazmynn Finkelstein; niece and nephew, Andrea and Michael Chochul. Relatives and friends may call Monday, August 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.  Services will be Tuesday, August 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  Sonya will be laid to rest in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
