Sofiya Pashchuk, 89, of Baldwinsville, passed away Thursday. Born in Dovhe, Ukraine, she moved to the Syracuse area in September of 1992. Sofiya was a member of the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed reading the Bible, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sofiya was predeceased by her sons, Vasiliy and Victor; brothers, Vasiliy and Alexander; and sisters, Lena and Ana.
Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Nikolay Pashchuk; children, Nikolay (Antonina) Pashchuk, Leonard (Nadia) Pashchuk, Halyna (Nikolay) Biskupets, Olga (Nikolay) Melnik, Svetlana (Nikolay) Soyko; daughter-in-law, Antonina Pashchuk; 40 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
First service will be Monday, October 4 at 6 pm at the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church, 3875 Warners Rd., Syracuse. Second service will be Tuesday, October 5 at 11 a.m. Sofiya will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
