Sigmund "Siggy" Sojda

Sigmund "Siggy" Sojda, 84, of Camillus, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. He was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, graduated from CBA and Le Moyne College, and served in the Army National Guard. Sigmund retired after 30 years with Niagara Mohawk. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and member of the Camillus Elks Lodge. Sigmund was predeceased by his wife Sylvia in 1998 and four brothers. Surviving are his son, Jeffrey of Camillus; daughter, Jennifer (Gary) Prochna of Skaneateles; grandchildren, Sierra, Ryan and Ava; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, March 23 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, March 24 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Sigmund will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
