Shirley Love Baker

Shirley Love Baker, 90, of Camillus, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Elderwood at Liverpool. Born in Malden, MA, she moved to the Camillus area in 1963. As a youth, Shirley was a member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls (IORG), earning several commendations and awards. She was a stay-at-home mom and worked part-time at East Hill Elementary School. Shirley went back to school after her husband passed away and received her associate degree in accounting from OCC. She worked at Niagara Mohawk in the accounting department for over 20 years and subsequently as a consultant. Shirley was a member of the Red Hat Society, secretary for the Camillus Seniors, stenographer at the Camillus Town Hall and volunteered at CatFISH as a dispatcher. She was one of the founding members of Immanuel United Methodist Church. Family meant the world to Shirley and she enjoyed traveling to Jerusalem, Alaska and Ireland. She loved spending time with her family at the Geneva Point Conference Center on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Donald; daughter, Karen Roach; and grandson, Devin Brigham.

Surviving are her daughters, Barbara (Henry) Brigham of Camillus and Judy (Richard) Bablok of Cleveland, NY; son, Donald (Kim) Baker Jr. of Camillus; son-in-law, Tim Roach of Jamesville; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, February 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church.

Services will follow at 3 p.m. at the church. Shirley will be laid to rest in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery & Crematory, Peabody, MA.
